BARGAINING

Saginaw Twp EA Bargaining scheduled all day Oct 20 and 21. We are optimistic for an agreement.

Carrollton AP is currently working on an extension of the current master agreement which expires next summer

GRIEVANCES

Saginaw Twp EA Linda McLeod’s grievance was resolved without hearing.

Katie Alderton’s grievance on involuntary assignment was reprocessed at the Supt level without resolution and has been resubmitted for arbitration.

The STEA grievance on the issue of providing instruction for a suspended student has been postponed pending settlement. If needed a new hearing date of Jan 17 has been offered.

STEOP The Association grievance on delayed start days is set for hearing on Oct 27.

I. Meeting called to order at 4:32 PM

A. Secretary – No report
B. Treasurer - $100 in checking, $167.80 in savings.
Training Grant funds lost ($1700) due to error made in turn in
of paperwork by end of fiscal year

F. Locals SVESP – Contract up in ‘06
Carrollton EA – Extended contract
STEA – Interest Based Bargaining – Contract extended
BREA – No Contract
SVEA – Negotiating for next year
G. MEA Retired – No report.
H. Uniserv Director - Business items will address issues.

V. SCPAC
A. Saginaw City Council – Discussion to enlist our members to vote for city council
members – Motion made to authorize Van Collins to communicate to our members in Saginaw
City to vote in council elections for quality candidates favoring unions seconded and approved
B. School Funding Petition Drive – Petition deadline extended to Nov 1 – Keep getting signatures.
C. Legislative Council Meetings– Van will set up meetings with Roger Kahn and Michael Goschka
D. Saginaw County Dems Fall Program – Motion passed to put ad in their Fall Banquet Program for $75 for ½ page ad

VI. Old Business
A. Election of Officers – Pete Tyson nominated and elected President – approved
Carolyn Nikolai nominated and elected Vice President - approved
Cheryl Revard nominated for Secretary and elected – approved
Mark Kabobel nominated and elected - approved

VII. New Business
A. Constitution Revision
Changes made to Bylaws
1. Removed from council

2. Added Reese to council
3. Article IV – Newsletter will now be posted on website – We will vote on at next mtg.
B. A Retirement Workshop will be scheduled on February 21, 2006
