Saginaw Twp EOP – Is still bargaining and is the only unsettled unit in the SCEA

GRIEVANCES

Saginaw Twp EA – The Association grievance for Improper Placement on the Salary Schedule will go to hearing on November 8th.

I. Meeting called to order at 4:30 PM

III. Approval of Minutes Motion to approve – seconded - approved

IV. Reports

A. Secretary – No report

B. Treasurer - Carrollton ESP/EA paid dues.
125.00 FOP ad. $575.00 Checking. $1950.36 Savings.

C. President

D. MEA Board – No representative

E. MESSA Senate/House Bills HB 6178 Creation of Medical Benefit Plan thru Civil Svc (PPO). Senate 1385 Bill – Allow Districts to enter self funding municipalities – No regulations.
Locals:  Bridgeport – Morale up. Swan Valley ESP – Change to Choice to save wage.

G. MEA Financial Services – Uniserv Director –

-Please have locals submit new officers.

-Monthly membership dues to MEA HQ.

-BV/Bridgeport want to join 11A.

-Oct 21 Retirement Workshop for younger employees.

-Local Pres invited to Financial Workshop in Frankenmuth, Nov 9 at 5:30. Pre tax
dollars to pay union dues education. Call SCEA.

-Training Grant - $2,298.

-MEA IPD Conference Dec 2-4 at Hyatt Regency, Dearborn.

V. SCPAC

A. PAC Drive-Mr. Kiss and Mr Cammin were endorsed after screening process by SCEA.

B. GOTV- Encourage others to vote.

VI. Old Business

A. American Education Week will use $300.

VII. New Business

OPIE – We will try to schedule award dinner for 5-3-04. Recipient will need to be submitted by each local by March 1.School Family Day – Coordinate with OPIE.

VIII. Good & Welfare – Introduction of members
